Previous ORSIS conference 2026:
The 2026 ORSIS Annual Conference was held on May 12th-13th at the Technion.
The meeting was attended by 145 registered participants, including 51 students.
The rich scientific program featured:
90 scientific lectures in 24 parallel sessions, spanning all areas of Operations Research.
An Industrial Exposure lecture by Lior Gazit (Classiq Technologies) on Quantum Optimization.
Semi-plenary talks by Irad Ben Gal, Yoav Kerner, Dan Yamin and Shimrit Shtern.
A plenary lecture by Ishai Menache (MSR) on Microsoft’s award-winning innovations in cloud supply chain management.
The Naor lecture, delivered by Mor Armony (NYU), on Queue Configurations and Customer Ownership.
The Uriel Rothblum award for outstanding work in OR was presented to Noa Zychlinski. The Abraham Mehrez Prize for best student work in OR was presented to Jennifer Kruman, advised by Yale Herer.

The social evening program included a stroll down the hill from Carmel Center to Hadar, featuring views of the Haifa Bay with some highlights of the city’s architecture and history, followed by the Conference Dinner.

IFORS : ORSIS 2025 conference review
The 2025 ORSIS Annual Conference was held on May 5th-6th at the Tel Aviv University.
The conference was attended by 106 registered participants, including 33 students.
A rich and fascinating scientific program was presented, which comprised:
87 scientific lectures in 23 parallel sessions, across all areas of Operations Research.
Semi-plenary lectures, delivered by Ricky Roet-Green, Efrat Perel, Galit-Yom Tov and Nicol Adler.
An expert Panel session on OR in the age of AI.
A plenary lecture by Noam Nisan, concerning Blockchain Fees.
The Naor lecture by Andrea Lodi of Cornell-Tech, on MILP and AI.

The Uriel Rothblum award was granted in the conference to Eliran Sherzer and Yehezkel Resheff, and the Abraham Mehrez Prize was granted to Arsenii Shmelev, a graduate student advised by Noa Zychlinski.
A moving ceremony was held to honor Nilly Schnapp, the ORSIS administrative coordinator for many years, organized by Gad Rabinowitz and in the presence of her family (the book dedicated to Nilly can be viewed HERE).
The social evening program was held in a different and refreshing format this time, featuring a rooftop drumming session, with the Tel-Aviv sunset in the background.
All in all, the conference was most successful and memorable in every aspect.
